This post outlines a typical day in my summer this year! I've arranged my daily schedule to ensure I am creating healthy habits, including time for self care, work, family and my interests. I hope it can serve as a helpful example for your own successful schedule.
5:30 - 6:10 Wake up, coffee, & read
This reading time is for pleasure books, either a novel or a non-fiction narrative to gently wake up.
6:10- 7:00 Workout & stretch
I love to start my day with a Peloton ride, weights, a HIIT run with my mom, or a Pilates session, followed by at least 15 minutes of stretching.
7:00-7:30 Shower & prep for my day
Cute makeup, hair, and fits! Even though I am predominantly working from home these days I am more productive when I feel put together.
7:30-7:45 Breaky :)
I usually have a bowl of overnight oats, matcha smoothie, or dark chocolate on a warm PB GF toast with fruit . A nutritious and energizing boost my morning.

7:45 - 8:00 Plan of attack!
I like to plan out my day with 5 priorities, any important schedule items like meetings or calls, and breaks. I schedule my 5-10 minute breaks at times of the day when I know I loose focus. This way I can do a few jumping jacks, have a mini dance party or take a little outside walk to refresh my mind and come back to work with greater attention.
8:00 Start work!
I recently started a new position working for Sotheby's International Realty broker Jay Alan. I am the Marketing Creative Director & Social Media Manager. I love this role because it allows me to use my creative skills in the Adobe Creative Suite, and learn innovative online marketing tools provided by SIR. I also get to collaborate with skilled communications managers, a diverse range of luxury real estate agents, and talented service providers across Seattle. I am learning so much and am so grateful to have this opportunity to develop my interpersonal and professional skills.
5:30 Wrap up the day
I aim to wrap up my work day around 5:30. Since I work from home it is easy to let the hours bleed into my evening and so I set alarms to remind me to move onto personal endeavors.
5:45 Play with my pets
I am a proud cat mama of two adorable furballs, Gnocchi and Bennu. They are very patient during my workday. They help me remember to be mindful and giggle, especially when chasing their ball.

6:00 Dinner time
Cooking delicious and healthy foods is one of my favorite activities. Recently, I have been practicing some delectable Italian and French dishes and sharing them with my family and friends. It is a nice time to relax, discover, learn and build community.
7:30 Personal endeavors + evening relaxation
After dinner I will often spend time writing for The Kayla Konnection and/or doing some educational reading. On the weekends I also spend my time visiting local museums and parks, taking trips to the farmers market, and listening to many podcasts while doing fine art.
9:30 Off digital and prep for bed
By 9:30 (at the latest) I aim to be off all digital devices and begin prepping for bedtime. The key to a good day and good health is rest and so I take my beauty sleep very seriously.
This is my typical summer day, I find it is helping me feel connected to myself and others. Most importantly I am building good habits and consistency for a balanced and healthy life at work and beyond.
